Findings and Proposed Solutions
- Company area: “PTC Worldwide” label is confusing
Solution: revise label
- Looked for Annual Report in News & Events area
Solution: add related link (or discrete PDF) to Annual Report in News & Events area
- Confusion between “Support” and “Services”: 1/3 user looked for Training in the
Support area; 2/3 users looked for Consulting in Support area.
Solution: Revise global nav. (see proposed solution below)

Location: on-site at PTC Customer Training Center
Testers: T. Perkins, S. Fatola, K. Berry, I. Lidutrio
Number of users: 4
User profiles:
- Engineers
- Pro/ENGINEER users
- 3 of 4 use PTC.com less than 1 hour/week; 1 uses it more than 3 hours/week
- All were taking Pro/MECHANICA class on day of test
- All use Support area most frequently, especially the Knowledge Base.
- Also visit the Products (Solutions) and Training areas.
Findings and Proposed Solutions
- Several looked for Annual Report in “News & Events” area
Solution: add related link to Annual Report from News & Events area
- Some confusion between “PTC in the News” and “News Releases”
Solution: revise label(s) (TBD)
- Confusion between Services and Support when looking for consulting, training,
support
Solution: revise global nav.: Company, News & Events, Products, Partners, Support and
Services, Community.
- Difficulty finding Customer References
Solution: Add related link to Customer References on front Products page; itemize
industries in right-side local nav. bar.
- Not aware that Windchill is “enterprise” software
Solution: make that association clear in intro. texts and elsewhere.
- Missed “Product Selector” (pull-down menu) on front Products page
Solution: revise placement of Selector (and test again); add same “Product Selector” pull-down
menu to package-level Products page.
